Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass Review

Fender’s Geddy Lee Jazz Bass Guitar is an exact replica of the tonally singular instrument that Rush’s revered bassist and vocalist has riffed away on in front of thousands of devoted fans worldwide and a handful of mega-selling albums.

The Fender J-bass has an alder body; the one-piece C-shaped maple neck (thin) has a maple fingerboard with black binding and black rectangular position markers. The two vintage Jazz Bass single-coil pickups crackle with life and bristle with the energy; other features include chrome hardware, vintage-style tuning machines and a Badass Bass II bridge.  Availiable in black or 3 tone sunburst.

Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Features:

  • Geddy Lee signature Jazz
  • Vintage-design alder body
  • Custom-shaped maple neck
  • U.S. Vintage Jazz Bass pickups
  • Badass II bridge
  • ’70s style block inlays and binding

Bottom Line:

Overall, this is a great bass.  It has good reviews, and is definitely worth the price.  Some people think that it is not quite as good as the American Standard series, but at $200 or so cheaper, this is still a great choice.  Good tone, good feel, and that cool Geddy Lee vibe with the black rectangular inlays.  With this, you can be living in the limelight (if you know what I mean).

The Fender Geddy Lee bass is available in either black or three-tone sunburst.
